Where to watch: L'Équipe Live Foot, L'Équipe's subscriber-only channel
L'Équipe Live Foot, the digital sports channel of France's L'Équipe media platform, has secured the French broadcast rights to all three of Argentina's October friendlies — Bolivia, Burkina Faso and Benin. That means Lionel Messi's farewell, the designated final appearance of his Argentina career, airs live on L'Équipe Live Foot in the night from Tuesday 6 to Wednesday 7 October.
This is not the linear L'Équipe TV channel. L'Équipe Live Foot lives on the L'Équipe digital platform and is réservée aux abonnés — available to subscribers only. The commentary pairing is a statement of intent: Omar Da Fonseca, the Franco-Argentine voice best known from Disney+'s La Liga coverage, joins journalist Hamza Rahmani on the microphone for Messi's last dance in the Albiceleste.
How to stream Argentina vs Benin on the L'Équipe platform
No TV subscription needed — just the L'Équipe one. Open the L'Équipe platform on your browser or the L'Équipe app on a phone, tablet or smart TV, log in with your subscriber account, and head to L'Équipe Live Foot shortly before 1:00 AM on Wednesday.
Set everything up in advance: this is a 1:00 AM kickoff, and the last thing you want is a login screen or a payment form at 00:58. As a bonus for French fans, Da Fonseca will also appear on the linear L'Équipe channel on Wednesday between 19:15 and 20:00 on L'Équipe de Greg to talk through the farewell — a proper debrief after the night's emotion.
What time does Argentina vs Benin start in France?
Kickoff is Tuesday 6 October 2026 at 20:00 in Buenos Aires (23:00 UTC). France is on Central European Summer Time, two hours ahead of UTC, so the match starts at 1:00 AM on Wednesday 7 October in Paris.
It is the kind of kickoff that tests devotion — the full first half plays out while most of France sleeps. But this is the last time Messi wears the Argentina shirt, with the 2022 World Cup winners invited back to the Monumental for the tribute. Coffee at midnight, goosebumps at 1:00 AM: this one is worth it.
Do I need a subscription to watch on L'Équipe Live Foot?
Yes. L'Équipe Live Foot is a subscriber-only channel on the L'Équipe platform — there is no free-to-air broadcast of this match in France. Check the L'Équipe subscription options on the platform and pick the plan that includes Live Foot access; digital-only packages should cover it.
If you already hold a L'Équipe subscription, confirm that Live Foot is part of your package before matchday. And whatever you do, steer clear of pirate streams: they cut out at the worst moments, and for a once-in-a-lifetime farewell, the legal stream is the only stream worth having.
