The Argentina vs Benin stadium is the Estadio Más Monumental in Núñez, Buenos Aires, on Tuesday 6 October 2026. It is River Plate’s ground and the usual big-night home of the Argentina national team. Kick-off time and the match-day transport plan are to be confirmed.

The ground itself

The full traditional name is Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti. After the recent rebuild it has been marketed as Más Monumental. It sits on Avenida Figueroa Alcorta in Núñez, toward the north of the city, close to the river. It is not the Mario Alberto Kempes in Córdoba, which hosts Bolivia on 30 September. Burkina Faso on 3 October uses this same Buenos Aires ground, then Benin three days later.

BBC Sport put the capacity at 85,000. Gulf News, citing a ticket sell-out, wrote 85,018 tickets. Those figures are close enough to describe a full modern Monumental and not close enough to pretend we measured the seats. How people usually arrive

There is no special match-day map published in the sources used here, so this is the ordinary way supporters reach the ground, not an official shuttle plan. The Mitre railway has a Núñez station within a walk of the stadium for many fans. Subte line D runs to Congreso de Tucumán, which is the nearest metro stop, and from there people take a bus or a taxi for the last stretch. Several city bus routes pass the Figueroa Alcorta side. A taxi or ride-hail drop-off will be slow if you leave it until the last minutes of a farewell night.

Roads around the stadium are often restricted when the national team plays. The exact closures for 6 October are to be confirmed. If you are staying in Recoleta, Palermo or the centre, leave earlier than a normal Monumental night. Ámbito said the gates would open well before the match for tributes and music. That means the neighbourhood fills up during the afternoon or early evening, even though the kick-off hour is not published. Do not plan a tight restaurant booking on the same block.

Inside the bowl

The price list used the stand names supporters already know: popular standing or general areas, and plateas at Sívori, Centenario, San Martín and Belgrano, split into alta, media and baja. The dearest reported seats were platea media San Martín and Belgrano. The cheapest adult seats were popular at ARS 90,000 before the service fee. A map of which gate matches which seat should come from the ticket itself. Do not follow a stranger’s gate recommendation.

Bag rules, the liquid policy and whether flags on sticks are allowed are to be confirmed by the stadium operator. A farewell will attract banners. Assume oversized poles and professional cameras need permission. This site is not the stadium and cannot grant it.

Weather

October in Buenos Aires is spring. Evenings are often mild. A jacket is more sensible than a winter coat, and rain is possible, so a light waterproof layer is reasonable. That is climate context, not a forecast for 6 October. Check a national weather service on the morning of the match. Wind off the river can make the upper tier feel cooler than the street. The pitch is grass. A weather delay is unlikely in a normal October evening and is not impossible. If it happens, the live score page should say “delayed”, not invent a result.

If you are not in Buenos Aires

You do not need the stadium page except as colour. The TV guide is the one that tells you whether a legal picture exists where you live. The crowd will be part of the broadcast either way. The ground is the stage AFA chose for the send-off, which is why the tickets went the way they did.

What to do if you are travelling from outside Buenos Aires

Córdoba hosts Bolivia six days earlier. Some supporters will do both. The cities are not a casual hop on a match day, and this page will not invent a flight time or a supporters’ bus. Book the city you can actually reach for Tuesday, then use ordinary Núñez routes. Hotels near the river fill up for national-team nights. A room in Palermo or the centre is normal, with a longer exit after the game. Leave the stadium area on foot until you are clear of the worst of the road closures, then take transport. Pickpockets like a distracted farewell crowd. Keep the ticket and your phone in a front pocket, not in a back pocket while you film the presentation.
